Your Nurse Practitioner Salary will vary considerably due to only a very small group of factors.

The difference just ONE of these factors will have on your career is mind boggling. How big of a difference can just one element have on my Nurse Practitioner Salary you might ask? Well, how about possibly doubling your income now and for the rest of your entire career, is that a big enough variable?

We will go over how to possibly double your income below in our top tip section. And no, it’s not what most people think. It is not where you took your Nursing school or even how much Nurse training you have. No, it’s not if you have 2 or 4 years experience. As a matter of fact it’s not even whether you have 2 or 20 years nursing experience and graduated one of the best Nursing schools combined. It’s even bigger than that!

But first we will go over what a Nurse Practitioner Salary is going to be like according to the official statistics and we will go over our numbers that we found. The official statistics are pretty good if you wanted to know what your salary would have been back in 2006 but they are not much help today in our present economy. Their data was published in the 2007/2008 publishing bracket. That means the data was collected in 2006 and likely beginning in 2005.

Our method is as real world and as up to date as is possible. We find ads and headhunter agencies all over the country and call on them asking what kind of Nurse Practitioner Salary people are really getting hired on at. We ask if what Nursing school you attended matters. We ask for minimum time on the job as a Nurse Practitioner is a key factor. Then finally we ask if there are any key factors that play a major role with them determining if they will take a candidate or not.

The average Nurse Practitioners Salary averaged from the top 3 job websites is between $66,400 and $94,000 for the entire United states. They do not list if they take into account all the part timers and average their salaries per hour and calculate them to full time before espousing these numbers.

Our numbers panned out as follows. after calling on ads and headhunters the national average low Nurse Practitioner Salary came in at $68,600 while the high salary average was $95,900. The average top Nurse Practitioners Salary range and we are talking at the very top was $114,000. The actual average of the very lowest starting positions in contrast was $51,000. So as you can see starting from the very lowest to the highest the difference is huge.

Now of course the first thing you have to ask is why such a huge difference in the high and low salary? Well, this then leads us to our top tip that we discussed with you earlier, which is…

The single biggest factor in determining how big your Nurse Practitioner Salary will be both now and for the entire length of your career is just like if you were going to open a store or buy real estate, it’s all about location, location, location!

What this means is when looking at how you will get the largest Nurse Practitioner Salary over the length of your career think geographical pay raise! You can easily make nearly double in some cases by just moving over one state and in a couple of instances just going to a different city in the same state made a huge difference.

Remember that high Nurse Practitioner Salary and the low salary we just went over? Well, they simply came from different states is all. Really, it can be just that simple.

A few of the states that had the highest pay we found were Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon and California. A couple more that were very high but not the highest Nurse Practitioner Salary were Nevada and New York. You may also find that Kaiser Permanente jobs are some of the higher paying big institution jobs.

We absolutely agree that you should go get the best nursing school and you should get the best nursing training after school and further yourself. And yes, we do realize you’re nursing salary will go up after several years of nursing experience. But none the less, our findings were that the single biggest boost in your Nurse Practitioner Salary now and over the life of your career was where you decided to work. Please keep that in mind so that after you graduate Nursing school or if you already have, it could be your number one lifetime salary enhancer nut just for nursing but for any jobs in medical field you may want to enter.

Your Radiologist Salary is one of those jobs in medical field that can vary wildly depending on just a few key factors. Below after we give you your Radiologist Salary figures we will give you our top tip for increasing your income by as much as 100%. Yes, with this one tip alone it is possible to go from one of the lowest salaries in the field to one of the highest. The thing that will really blow your mind is that it’s possible to do this top tip in just one day! No, it does not involve going to another Radiology school or any other form of education. We will give you the top tip in just a minute, but 1st the range of Radiologist salaries we spoke of earlier.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics does not give a Radiologist Salary specifically they simply reports that all specialty physicians lumped into one pool earn in the range of $350,000 per year. So, we decided to call on ads across the nation and contact headhunters to see what reality was for a full time Radiologist Salary. What we found was rather interesting.

By calling ads and seeing what was really being offered we found the real world ranges to be all the way from a low of around $99,000 per year to a top level in excess of $460,000 per year. We also found the field of Interventional radiologist’s earning a Radiologist Salary of as much as $579,000 per year. Some of the higher paying by institution were Kaiser Permanente jobs overall.

Our findings were that by averaging our figures the median income should be somewhere around $307,000 per year for full time radiologists with a minimum of 4 years experience and having graduated a good Radiology school with decent passing marks.

However, NONE of those were at all one of the top reasons some can earn realistically $100,000 while others earn $400,000 or more. There was one single reason, one common denominator as to why one earned the high Radiology salary and one the lower. And that is the subject of our top tip.

The single biggest reason some earn the huge Radiologist Salary and others not is…. Just like in real estate it’s all about location, location, location! Yes we are saying that if you want to earn the big bucks, depending upon where you live now, you may want to think about relocating.

In many cases we found that just moving over one state or in some cases even just one city made enormous differences in pay. Some of the top paying states were Alaska and Hawaii well no surprise there they are also two of the most expensive places to live as well.

A few of the other states with the highest Radiologist Salary options even fresh out of Radiology school were California, Oregon and Massachusetts. One would think that Florida with all of the retiree’s would be the top place but alas it was not. Florida was a really great payer but was not at the very top. We won’t go into which state had the lowest Radiologist Salary out of respect for the residents of the state but let’s just say the difference was amazing.

So, while you should be continuing your education with fervor we do suggest you take a look at the possibility of a geographical pay raise to get yourself to the top Radiologist Salary in the country you possibly can.

Portland RN Jobs are one of the jobs in medical field that are not only plentiful but they are also some of the highest paying in the nation. There is a huge reason that RN Jobs are available all over our country and one that very few people realize (we will discuss that below).

Portland RN Jobs Are In Demand!

Nursing schools and especially RN schools are literally begging for new applicants right now and job placement after graduation from a good RN school is all but guaranteed.

Portland RN Jobs abound just like the rest of the country due to one vastly overlooked fact.

The Baby Boomer Generation is now retiring. Did you know that the baby boomers represented the single largest economic force in history. They financed the tech bubble, they financed the real estate bubble and now they will finance the retirement bubble. Just like in many other areas of the country this will drive RN jobs in the Portland area through the roof!

Their movement through their growth and aging cycle has begun it’s culmination heading towards the die off of that generation and as they begin to seriously age their need for medical care will skyrocket. The next ten to twenty years for anyone employed by Nursing schools or in the nursing field itself stands to be in a very high demand position.

Did you know that you could very easily get a professorship upon retiring from your nursing career and teach at a very nice nursing school or RN school to extend your career well after your hospital/facility nursing days are over. Not only are nursing schools in need of applicants they are also in dire need of instructors too.

Yes, there are literally nursing jobs falling off the tree in Portland and there are a few other extremely high demand areas around the country like Massachusetts, Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada and some localized spots in California like San Diego. As for institutions Kaiser Permanente jobs are some of the higher paying big company jobs.

RN Jobs In Portland Have Great Pay!

To your immense benefit these areas of high nursing job demand also pay some of the highest nurse salaries in the nation as well. Of course that just makes sense, it’s the law of supply and demand. They are in short supply so demand drives up the price or in this case your nursing salary.

RN Jobs In Portland are a little different than other high demand cities. They have a nice growing retirement population and they don’t have quite the same international draw as the cities in their neighboring states. So, they have a much higher need and demand for quality medical personal in this case qualified RN’s.

Of course you likely already know that you have the possibility as an RN to make over $150,000 per year by obtaining an extra certificate. Yes it’s true. If you want to put forth the extra effort and become a Nurse Anesthetist you would be able to name your price in some areas of the country. And yes, that takes a specialized nursing school to acquire that degree but in our opinion it is well worth it.

The options are your to take that’s for sure. But if you did not already, now you know WHY your nursing career will be in such high demand for the next 10 to 20 years and beyond. There are a few analysts who think it will be a growth industry with no sign of slowing down for at least 40 years. So, from all angles it would appear your Portland RN Jobs that you’re searching for will be safe and sound for a long time.

The jobs in medical field continue to grow in the United States providing opportunities that recently did not exist. One example, medical administrative assistants, illustrates the ways in which salaries are climbing and job openings are appearing like never before.

The medical administrative assistant salary can vary widely depending on both location and education level. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary for medical assistants of all kinds was $28,650 as of 2009, although more recent numbers from other organizations suggest average salaries closer to $33,000.

There are many factors that figure into a medical administrative assistant salary; those working for specialty physicians, such as podiatrists or psychiatrists, make much more, generally between $35,900 and $46,400. Pay also varies depending on location; medial assistants in areas such as Massachusetts and Washington D.C. made much more than those in Kansas or the southern states.

Top pay requires maximum education in the field. For medical administrative assistants, this means a high school degree in addition to one or two years of higher medial education. Such programs are usually found at community or for-profit colleges. While they cost anywhere from one to ten thousand dollars to complete, getting a degree from such a program often leads to a significantly higher salary.

Courses leading to such positions center on both medical classes, such as anatomy and first aid and clerical classes, such as office management and fundamentals of medical billing. As workers at a crossroads between medicine and bookkeeping, medical administrative assistants are required to know a great deal about both fields.

Workers in the field may be expected to carry out a variety of tasks, many more than in the past. Instead of being a simple desk job, medical administrative assistants may be expected to carry out some basic medical procedures to prepare patients to meet with physicians. Additionally, assistants are typically expected to work well with computers, manage records for their office, operate phones, and manage patients in the reception area. They must understand medical terminology, office procedures, and computer technology, implementing their skills as transcriptionists, office clerks, and insurance agents.

Occupations in medical fields In the United States continue to grow, and medical administrative assistants will become more in demand as time continues. In fact, the field is set to be one of the fastest growing occupations in the next ten years, reaching over 650,000 jobs by 2020 in the U.S. alone with some of the greatest single company need being Kaiser Permanente jobs as they just have a ton of positions to fill.. Although more people are moving into the field due to its stability, the medical administrative assistant salary will likely rise due to continuing increases in demand.

As noted above, the medical administrative assistant salary levels vary considerably based on the traits listed above. When considering a career in the field, it is important to consider the salary potential of the position as well as the education required, tasks involved, and growth outlook of the field.

Radiologic technologist salary ranges from the 25th percentile (those above the bottom 25%) with a salary of $44,096 to the 90th percentile (those still with 10% greater salaries above them) with a salary of $56,907, according to salary.com on their Radiologic Technologist – U.S. National Averages Chart. While this is the average range of income for radiologic technology jobs in the United States, the median expected salary is $48,157. This report was prepared by the Certified Compensation Professional analysis of survey data collected from thousands of HR departments at employers of all sizes, industries and geographies.

As one of the better jobs in medical field the job description of a radiologic technologist consists of positioning patients for x-rays, producing x-rays to aid in the diagnostic treatment of medical problems, and preventing patients from having unnecessary exposure to radiation. Educational and professional qualifications for becoming a radiologic technologist include acquiring an associate’s degree from an accredited program and registration as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T). Additional qualifications include knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in ones field of specialization. This why a Radiologic technologist salary can see the types of numbers that it does.

There are alternative job titles in the radiologic technology field. Alternatives or specializations within the radiologic technologist field include: X-ray Technologist, Radiographer, Chief Radiologic Technologist, Ultrasound Technologist, Surgical Technologist, MRI Technologist, CAT Scan Technologist, Radiation Therapy Technologist, Medical Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Chief Ultrasound Technologist, Polysomnographic Technician and more.

A Radiologic technologist salary varies according to the type of radiologic technologist job selected. The education requirements, overall knowledge base and specialization training also vary with the selected specialty within the technological field. The salaries, educational requirements and specialty training will be presented for a few of the technological job titles listed above.

First, Chief Radiologic Technologist will be examined. Job description includes: overseeing radiological services, maintaining quality assurance and risk-management aspects of patient care, delivery of safe and accurate procedures and does coordination of work schedules. The Chief Radiologist also coordinates requests for radiologic services from other departments. The median salary is $73,182 and the salary range is from $63,511 to $83,292 percentile per year. When job shopping you will find that Kaiser Permanente jobs are plentiful now and should be for some time.

The next job description is for an Ultrasound Technologist. The job description includes: performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment, routine coordination of scheduled tests, and oversees maintenance of ultrasound equipment. Educational requirements include: a two-year allied health degree and one-year completion of Ultrasound Technology training program. Experience in the field is preferred in addition to certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) may be required. The median base salary is $64,559 and the salary range is from $58,997 to $76,063 percentile per year.

A final job description is for a Chief MRI Technologist. The job description includes: management of the magnetic resonance department, maintaining accuracy, quality and radiologic safety of MRIs. The technologist also oversees service schedules for routine maintenance and makes recommendations for any new equipment or adjustments to existing MRIs as necessary. Educational requirements include: a bachelor’s degree, registration as a technologist by the A.R.R.T and 4 years of field experience. The median base salary is $76,404 and the salary range is from $68,941 to $87,958 percentile per year.

This is just a broad overview of the requirements, Radiologic technologist salary and specializations within the radiologic technology field which can aid in making an informed decision about entering this area of employment.

Being a Registered Nurse can be one of the great jobs in medical field. The registered nurse job description is that the median national salary in the USA is $66,530.00 with the highest paying states being California $85,080, Massachusetts $81,780 and then the island state of Hawaii coming in at $80,020.

Interestingly the areas where nurses actually find their employment nationally are approximately 57% of them work in hospitals and the remainder in the private sector. With of course the bulk being taken up by a few of the big chains like Kaiser and Cigna.

As far as the actual registered nurse job description is concerned most of your duties will be as follows.

As an RN you will work closely with doctors to gather information about current state of health of the patient. You will watch closely for certain changes in their attitude, food intake and elimination (you’ll have CNA’s for that part) to determine shifts in their wellness state.

You will aid in the high level care of the patient ensuring that their prescribed medications are given and at the appointed times.

You will work closely with both the patient and their families to manage their condition or illness discussing inpatient and outpatient home health care protocols. You will help them wade through all of the complexities that they don’t understand about the entire medical process. You will help bring them to a better understanding so they may shore up their confidence about the treatment options that they have before them.

In addition another registered nurse job description might include the organization of health screenings, the running of immunization centers, blood drives and even elder care units both within the hospital environment and in the private sector.

One of the biggest elements to ensure that you feel you are ready for is the human element. Not a lot of sites talk about this part but it makes up such a big part of your day to day routine that it really must be thought through.

The human element comprises your daily contact and interaction with your patient load. They will see you as their life line (in many cases quite literally) and come to trust and like you. So you should really ask yourself “will I still be able to be kind to this person when they just vomited on my shoe?”. Or how will I handle myself when I know that I am treating the bank robber with the bullet wounds that the police gave him, knowing full well the robber just killed 2 innocent people? No we are not being morbid here.
Did you know that if you need the schooling or need the continuing education that you can now train online for most of all of your required classes.
One of the better jobs in medical field is a nurse practitioner who is a registered nurse that will usually have undergone some form of additional education and extra training in a specific area such as paediatrics or family practice, both of which can provide regular health care for children.

One of the better jobs in medical field is a nurse practitioner who is a registered nurse that will usually have undergone some form of additional education and extra training in a specific area such as paediatrics or family practice, both of which can provide regular health care for children.

This position is also referred to as an advanced practice nurse or APN for short. In many states they are considered “mid-level providers/practitioners” along with clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anaesthetists and physician assistants.

In some states, NP’s will admit and follow their patients in hospitals. Some will work in emergency rooms evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients with fractures and lacerations. A nurse practitioner can also open their own clinics and offices.

In order to become a nurse practitioner the candidate must first complete the education and training that is required to become a registered nurse. This involves the completion of either an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion of a diploma program.

This will also have to be coupled with direct patient care for acutely or chronically ill patients. This process will usually take up to 4 years to complete before you can move on to further training which is usually in the form of a “bridge program”, these often award the bachelors degree while completing the requirements for the masters. Once licensed as a registered nurse, the candidate must complete a state approved advanced nursing education program that will usually specialize in a field such as family health, adult health, women’s health, acute care etc.

As the profession of a Nurse Practitioner is state regulated the care that can be provided varies immensely. In some states the NP can work completely independent of the physicians while, in most states collaborative agreement with a physician is required for practice. Therefore the job could entail any of the following:

♦ Obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.

♦ Prescribing physical therapy and other rehabilitation treatments.

♦ Providing prenatal care and family planning services.

♦ Providing child care including screening and immunizations

♦ Performing minor surgeries and procedures, with additional training and under supervision.

♦ Counselling and educating patients on health and self care skills and treatments.

These are just a few of the jobs that you can do as a nurse practitioner and with such a great variety of choice you can specialize in exactly the area you wish. Depending on the choices you make you can expect to earn anywhere between $60,000 and $105,000 per year and with the need for these positions to be filled you can guarantee there will be jobs available in the future. Just take all the Kaiser Permanente jobs they can’t even fill right now. All this makes for a great, exciting and rewarding career choice.
